12 former UBA members laid down arms

QUETTA: As many as 12 former members of Baloch Republican Army (BRA) and United Baloch Army (UBA) laid down arms in front of intelligence agencies and chief of Bugti, announcing to join national mainstream.

According to the reports, former commander of BRA Jamal Khan alias Bodala and 12 other insurgents from UBA laid down arms in front of Chief of Bugti Haji Khan Muhammad Masoori and Intelligence agency and announced to be a part of national mainstream. They said that they were involved in terrorist activities in the areas of Punjab and Balochistan for the last 12 years. They also handed over huge cache of weapons.

Sources said that it was for the first time that insurgents of UBA had laid down arms to be part of national mainstream. The security sources said that the insurgents were involved in attacks on security forces, gas pipeline and other heinous crimes.
