QUETTA: Goods train service has been suspended between Pakistan and Iran as unknown people blew up railway track near Noshki area, some 170 km of here on Tuesday.
Lives officials said that unknown militants planted explosive device near Zangi-abad at the railway track link Quetta with Zahidan and blew it up. Sources said that a goods train was scheduled to cross the area on its way to Quetta coming from Zahidan.
“Around eight feet long portion of the railway track blown up in the powerful blast suspending goods train service between the two countries,” levies officials said.
Railway officials while confirming the railway line blast near Noshki said that the railway engineers and other concerned staff reached at the site and started repairing of the damaged railway track.
Goods train service has been suspended between Quetta and Zahidan till the repairing of the track. No one has claimed responsibility of the blast so far.
Security forces has launched search operation in the area to trace out the elements involved in the subversion act.
