QUETTA: After Simmering debate on provincial annual budget amid opposition and government the provincial government approves supplementary budget of rupees 352.3 billion on Monday session.
The Balochistan Assembly chaired by Speaker Raheela Hamid Durrani has approved provincial annual budget of rupees 252.3 billion on Monday after simmering debates and uproar by opposition benches terming the budget finalized on favoritism.
09 demands of rupees more than 88 billion rupees for development projects and 74 supplementary demands of rupees more than 200 billion rupees for non-development projects are given approval on the last budget debate session.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudus Bizenjo has presented the supplementary demands being Finance Minister following former Advisor on Finance Dr. Ruqiya Hahsmi didn’t attend the session after she tendered her resignation from the post citing misbehavior by other MPAs and Ministers.
The Provincial Government has allocated more funds for Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) as rupees 88.3 billion allocated to provide relief to the people of Balochistan on their door steps.
CM Balochistan Abdul Qudus Bizenjo has presented the supplementary budget comprising on 56 demands that was unanimously approved by all Assembly members.
“The Provincial Government appreciates all parties including JUI F, NP, BNP Mengal and other members who fully supported us in finalizing the provincial annual budget, we are democratic people and must pursue democratic values in our Assembly.” Qudus Bizenjo said while applauding the house for approving the annual budget.
Chief Minister Balochistan has announced bonus for the staff of the provincial Assembly who worked in preparing the provincial annual budget.
In 2018-19 annual financial budget, Balochistan Government has decided to expedite the performance of Balochistan Revenue Authority to collect more taxes to cover the budget deficit. However the Balochistan Government has allocated the highest amount of rupees 20.19 billion for communication sects’ 925 schemes including 567 new schemes.
Walking out from the Provincial Assembly Session to record his protect JUI F Mufti Gulab urged the provincial government to re-include new dams schemes in PB-18 which was shifted into PB-19.
Responding on the demand of salaries of security staff of honorable MPAs, Speaker Raheela Hamid Durrani asked Home Minister and Chief Minister,
“Due to one signature pending dozens of security employees are deprived from salaries, the issue should be resolved on priority.” She added.
Replying to Speaker, Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said, summary has been sent to the finance department, as CM Balochistan is the head of the department, he will direct the secretary finance and their salaries will be released.
