QUETTA: The Balochistan Professors and Lecturers Association (BPLA) on Wednesday protested against the provincial government on not keeping their promise of conveyance allowance announced for professors and lecturers.
The Protesting Professors and Lecturers staged a rally from Government Science College and marched on various roads of the provincial capital in sizzling hot weather and protested in front of Quetta Press Club.
The Protest carrying placards and banners attempted to penetrate inside the red-zone but security forced intercepted the protesters at the chowk, while women professors from various colleges have also participated in the protest.
Despite CM Balochistan announcement and pledges, yet Professors and Lecturer in Balochistan are deprived of Conveyance Allowance, Higher Education Allowance and other perks.
“After hearing our demands, CM Balochistan Qudus Bizenjo had approved allowances for Balochistan’s professors, but yet the finance department is unable to issue the notification while Bureaucracy causing hurdles in filling our valid demands.”President BPLA Professor Agha Zahid and other addressed the protesters.
They added, despite Ramzan and hot weather in Quetta, we flanked with female professors are compelled to protest in an open sky for demands, “We have been on roads for basic demands that have already been approved by CM Balochistan.”
The BPLA set a striking camp outside Press Club and announced their protest will be continue unless government fill their basic demands.
