Secretary health convened to settle the issues of newly medical colleges

QUETTA: A meeting was convened regarding the establishment of new medical colleges and non-seriousness of Pakistan Medical and Dental council (PMDC) in registration of these newly established institutions.

The meeting was chaired by Secretary Health, Saleh Mohammad Nasir. While in meeting Additional Sectary Health, Abdul Rahoof Baloch, including Chief Planning officer, Abdul Rashool Zahri, and principals of newly established medical colleges were also present.

However in meeting it was decided that the parents were informed through notices in various newspapers by PMDC that they must not take admissions in Makran medical college.

These actions of PMDC have indulged the staff members of college including parents in anxiety.

According to the participants of meeting, the admissions in this medical college were taken according to the rules of PMDC and through governmental levels.

However, in order to settle the issue, the participants said, we wrote to the concerned authorities of PMDC last year. But reluctance is being shown in solution of the issue.

The irresponsibility on the part of PMDC in case of Balochistan is similar to playing with youth of already deprived province of Pakistan.

The participants said, Balochistan government has utilized handsome amount of money that is in billions to avert the crisis of health in province through establishment of new medical colleges.

Currently, Bolan Medical College is the only medical college that is trying to overcome health related issues of the entire province.
