Mastung Carnage: BNP suspends political activities across Balochistan

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) Mengal Chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has suspended all political activities in grief of Mastung carnage and announced sum for election campaigns will be donated for the victim families.

Sharing his message on Twitter the BNP Mengal Chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has suspended all his party’s political activities in mourn of Mastung Suicide attack in which 150 people including Nawabzada Siraj Raisani were killed and more than 186 injured.

“My people have faced a devastating tragedy in which 149 families have lost their loved ones, following the carnage of people of Balochistan my conscience don’t allow me to run election campaigns in Balochistan.” Akhtar jan Mengal said and announced money we allocated for our election campaigns now will be donated for the victim families.

Talking on phone after his tweet former Chief Minister of Balochistan Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal said, as per locked schedule BNP were going to hold public rallies in Makran Division but our people’s eyes are filled with tears after the gruesome attack and many still lifting coffins of their loved ones,

“In this harsh circumstance how can we hold public rallies and election campaigns in Balochistan, therefore after consensus with my party leaders’ BNP Mengal has suspended all election activities in the province.” Akhtar Jan Mengal added.

Showing his grieve on the Mastung Suicide attack Sardar Akhtar said, my people have never witnessed such bloodshed in which hundreds of people were killed and more than 186 still receiving medical treatment, “Sum we were about to expend on our election activities now will be expand on the victims and our party will provide them edibles and medicines.”

Akhtar Mengal announced that  BNP’s friends from Quetta have announced rupees one million and our friends in Panjgur have announced to donate rupees half million for the relief of victim families.
