QUETTA: One civilian was killed and 15 people sustained injusries, including 7 Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan’s personnel, when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded targeting forces’ vehicle in Pak-Afghan bordering City Chaman on Sunday.
According to Police, unknown terrorists planted an Improvised Explosive Device inside a motorbike and parked it at Chaman’s Mall road “The FC Balochistan’s convoy was passing the area when IED exploded through a remote controlled time device killing one civilian injuring 15 among 7 FC personnel,” said police.
Heavy contingent of Law Enforcement Agencies and rescue workers rushed the blast spot and evacuated the dead and injured to District Headquarter Hospital.
The civilian who lost his life was identified as Kamaran while 7 FC soldiers and 8 civilian received injuries as result of the blast.
A plume of smoke rose due to the blast while a dozen vehicle, two dozen motorbikes and many shops were destroyed due to the intensity of the blast.
BD team at the spot confirmed that 5 to 7 kg explosive material was used in the blast which was planted in a motorbike.
So far no group claimed responsibility of the blast but it was the second blast in a month on forces in Pak-Afghan bordering city Chaman.
District Administration imposed emergency minutes after the blast while all duty doctors and medical staff were called in DHQ Hospital Chaman.
