Four former Medical Superintendent arrested for illicit appointments in BMC

QUETTA: The Anti-Corruption Department on Tuesday booked four accused including former Medical Superintendent (MS) BMC Hospital for illicit appointment in Quetta’s 2nd largest government hospital during 2016-17.

MS Muhammad Ayoub Kakar, Dr. Rafiqullah, Dr. Rafique Lehri and Admin Officer BMC Hospital Shair Muhammad were arrested on Tuesday for misuse of power and illicit appointment in the Hospital.

“Following the Directions of Director Anti-Corruption Muzafar Zeeshan Lehri an Anti-Corruption team headed by Deputy Director Atta Munim raided on their residence arresting four accused involved in illegal appointment in health department during the period of 2016-17.” Anti-Corruption Department officials said adding the action was taken after consecutive complaints against the four accused.

Condemning the arrest Pakistan Medical Association Balochistan said, the Anti-Corruption Department deliberately harassing doctors refuting the allegations and said, the appointments were made following all legal procedures,

“It was a pre-planned game by the department, they called them in their office and announced that you guys have been arrested which shows a conspiracy against doctors in Balochistan.” PMA Balochistan said in a statement against the arrests adding they have not any evidence over the illegal appointments.

The Anti-Corruption Department has taken the four accused for further investigations.
