Three security personnel martyred in Pishin blast

QUETTA: At least three Levis personnel were martyred in motorcycle bound blast in Pishin targeting the vehicle of Assistant Commissioner Barshor Ameer Zaman Kakar on Friday.

Unidentified persons parked an explosive laden motorbike at the Pishin bypass area some 51km far from the provincial capital to target the convoy of Assistant Commissioner Barshor Ameer Zaman Kakar. Levis Force said.

“The explosive bounded motorbike detonated with a remotely controlled device killing three security personnel and injuring one driver.” Levis officials added.

A heavy contingent of Law Enforcement Agencies along with rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and injured driver to District Headquarter Pishin, however the injured driver later shifted to Quetta due to his critical wounds.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Pishin Waqar Khursheed confirmed that three security personnel deployed for the security of AC Barshor were martyred but Ameer Zaman Khan Kakar was not presented in the vehicle when the blast occurred.

The martyred Levis personnel were identified as Abdul Baqi, Jaffar Khan and Asmatullah who were deployed for the security while the injured driver Ain udd Din is being treated in Civil Hospital’s Trauma Center.

So far no group claimed the responsibility of the attack but last month six men including three Chinese engineers were injured as a suicide bomber hit a bus carrying Chinese engineers in Dalbandin.

Footage of the crime spot showed a destroyed motorbike laying down on the road as security forces cordoned-off the area. The remotely controlled explosive device was detonated when the vehicle passing the area.

“The terrorist wanted to target the AC Barshor Ameer Zaman however he wasn’t presented in his vehicle as it hit with a huge blast.” ADC Pishin said.
