By-Elections: All set for polling on PB 35 and PB 40

QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan has claimed on Friday that all preparations were made following by elections polls on provincial constituencies PB 35 Mastung and PB 40 Khuzdar.

Polling process on PB 35 Mastung and PB 40 Khuzdar was due on Sunday October 14 as Election Commission Balochistan has claimed that it complete all necessary preparations for the by-elections polling adding ballot papers have been transported to all polling stations.

“Strict Security measures would be adopted during polling day and Pak Army, FC and Levis personnel would be deployed inside and outside the polling stations to handle any untoward situation.” Election Commissioner Balochistan Nayaz Baloch said adding we have decided to install CCTV cameras inside the polling stations.

“The polling process will be continues for nine consecutive hours without any pass, voting will be commenced at 8am morning which will be lasted till 5pm evening.” EC Balochistan said.

The General Elections were postponed on PB 35 as a result of a deadliest suicide attack on BAP’s candidate Nawabzada Siraj Raisani on July 12 which left 154 people killed including Siraj Raisani.

At least 28 political and independent candidates have been taking part in by-election on PB 35 among former Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani who is being supported by BNP Mengal and National Party’s Sardar Kamal Khan Bangulzai are the hottest candidates.

According to date share by Election Commission of Balochistan, total 107188 registered voters among 62403 male and 44785 female voters will cast their constitutional right of voting during by elections polls on PB 35.

The President of BNP Mengal got elected on Provincial and National Assembly’s sets, and he decided to retain his MNA’s slot and left the provincial seat on PB 40. At least 8 candidates have been contesting by elections from PB 40 among BNP and JUI F’s joint Candidate Ali Akbar Mengal has emerged as strong candidate.

In PB 40 Khuzdar total 76213 registered voters will cast their votes while 41 polling station were declared most sensitive in District Khuzdar.
